Description: Heavy rains can move soil and nutrients within fields and into nearby watercourses. This workshop will feature speakers from GRCA and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) as well as local producers who can provide insight and practical information on how to build soil resilience and keep soil in place. Topics include a recap of significant local rainfall events and their impacts, water quality trends in the Grand River and Lake Erie, improving soil resilience through best management practices, and resources available to help farmers manage heavy rainfalls.
Certified crop advisors can receive three continuing education units (CEUs) through participation in this workshop. To register, email email@example.com or call Anne Loeffler at 1-866-900-4722 x2242.
